April 2017 Book list: I Read Past My Bedtime

I love reading. If I could, I would probably draw, read, eat, and not do anything else (maybe someday). So I thought it would be fun to create a booklist every month for those of you who want recommendations on some good reads. I usually only read non-fiction books but I will throw a few fiction novels here and there. This month, I wanted to showcase some of my favorite picks for books that “you can’t put down” for those nights before bed.

Deep Dark Fears by Fran Krause
This lovely illustrated book was given to me by a dear friend and I absolutely LOVE it. I tend to be on the anxious side and this books shows a humorous side for all of us anxious-irrational people.

Talking to Heaven by James Van Praagh
I really like to learn about the “other world.” Whether you believe in ghosts or spirits, James Van Praagh has written a few interesting books about them.

A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket
I know, this is a children’s series. But it has so many dark and deep elements to each story. Daniel Handler, more known as Lemony Snicket, is a genius. If you have not read these sad, despicable stories, I recommend you do so ASAP.

The Know-It-All: One Man’s Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World by A.J. Jacobs
If you love knowing random facts, then this book is for you! The author takes you on a rich journey through Webster’s encyclopedia’s most “interesting” facts. Guaranteed to make you giggle occasionally.
